Senior Solutions Architect Role Purpose
The purpose of the Solutions Architect is to guide the solution design to be fit for purpose and aligned with the architectural direction of the organisation.
This role is accountable for development of fit for purpose solution architectures that are well aligned with the organisations strategic direction, target state architectures and approved standards. It works closely with other architects, analysts, project teams and business representatives to support the delivery of high quality ICT solutions

Responsibilities
•Develop and guide solution architecture and design, ensuring designs are fit for purpose, high quality and cost effective.
•Ensure solution designs are well aligned with the strategic objectives, the IS Strategic Plan and other key documents.
•Ensure solution designs reflect information security policy, standards and industry good practice.
•Contribute to the development of information architecture and data models, and review proposed schemas against these.
•Contribute to the development of target state architectures, standards and roadmaps.
•Provide technical leadership and mentoring.
•Build and maintain effective relationships with Information Services staff, business stakeholders and suppliers.
•Represent Information Services in sector and government forums.
•Support successful project delivery.
•Identify and assist with the management of security and technical risks (particularly with regard to proposed solutions).
•Communicate progress to Portfolio Manager on regular basis.
•Report issues or technical difficulties to Portfolio Manager / Team Leader Architecture asappropriate.
Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

•Solutions Architect – 3+ years of architecture experience delivering a Solution from the design phase through to delivery.
•Development – 10 + years as a Senior Developer /Tech Lead working in Java or .Net Applications (Implementing applications)
•Integration – Build and Design of Rest API’s and Integration patterns.
•AWS Cloud - Creating cloud native solutions and components (Microservices) to deliver working functions.
